Dibrugarh: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday took stock of the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.
He visited departments like gynaecology, radiology and the proposed obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) building.
The chief minister interacted with many students who live at the old hostel of the medical college.
He listened to the grievances and assured them that the problems they were facing in staying at the hostel would be solved on a priority basis.
Sonowal held a meeting with the officials of the health department where he asked them to immediately repair the malfunctioning machines at the medical college.
Recently, Rs 100 crore was earmarked for the medical college under three components – repair of existing old buildings, construction of new building according to the Medical Council of India norms and procurement of new machines and equipment.
