New Arunachal CM faces floor test, blow to Tuki camp

The newly sworn-in CM of Arunachal Pradesh Kalikho Pul has a lot of support and in the 56 member of assembly (two legislators have resigned) 28 members are in his favor with outside support of 11 BJP members and two independent ones. Nine Congress legislators have left former CM , Tuki led Congress camp to join the rebel Congress camp.

Addressing the media persons on the sideline of CLP meeting, Chief Minister said, “I have formed a government with 32 MLAs”. He added that his government is a Congress government but supported by BJP from outside. “Accountability, responsive and corruption free governance are priority of my government” CM said. The Chief Minister further stated that his fight is against autocratic and unlawful way of functioning by the former chief minister.

Mr Pul has wasted no time in releasing funds for the unpaid employers who were suffering under the old administration. The long pending salaries have been paid.

Pul has cleared the outstanding salaries of Panchayati Raj, Science and Technology, DRDA, Information Technology and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department. While Rs. 1297.84 lakhs for payment of wages of the contractual staffs under de-linked schemes of Panchayati Raj department was released, another Rs. 250 Lakhs was made at large to Science and Technology for salaries and wages of the employees under Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology, State Remote Sensing Application Centre and Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre by the CM.
