MP Jewellers Robbery Case, Two Held in Assam

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today ordered the DGP to probe into Tuesday loot case in MP jewelers in Guwahati city.

In a joint operation by Guwahati and Hojai Police, the duos have been detained from their residence in Nandapur area of Hojai. They have been identified as Premjit Sinha and Neelkamal Singh. Premjit Sinha was the security personnel of the MP Jewellers, who was on leave since 8th May.

On Tuesday evening, masked robbers looted 7 to 8 kg of gold jewellery worth crores of rupees from MP Jewellers.

The faces of all the robbers were covered and they opened fire before looting all the valuable jewellery displayed on the store, an eyewitness said.
